You can’t always believe your eyes is one of the first lessons learned when being introduced to Now You See Me, the American heist thriller that sets a new tone for criminology and magic. A star-studded cast, including Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Morgan Freeman, and Isla Fisher, create a dynamic experience for viewers to contemplate.

Playing illusionists to this degree is not simple, and Isla Fisher learned it the hard way when she nearly drowned while filming an escape trick from a water tank. Fischer tried to call for help but, unfortunately, everyone around assumed it was part of her scene. Thankfully she managed to escape unharmed.

First rule of magic: always be the smartest person in the room

Perhaps the best detail of Now You See Me is that viewers get to be a part of the action from the very start. You’re taken off your comfy couch and placed in a huge arena of chanting fans watching mind-blowing illusions, in what feels like real time. An unlikely team of magicians use their deceptive powers to perform the impossible. Even with a keen eye, and knowing a bit of background, you’re likely to miss a few things that happen right before your eyes.

Now You See Me 2

We are going out with a show people will never forget

Now You See Me 2 comes back with a similar opening scene, making hearts race and viewers desperate to try and catch clues. Most of the original team, plus a few fresh faces (Daniel Radcliffe, Lizzy Caplan, Jay Chou and Sanaa Lathan), are on top as far as they can tell. But are they the ones caught in the ultimate illusion or do they pull another trick out of the hat?

The sequel is more humorous than the first and also has moments of raw emotion. Once again, fans aren’t clued in until the end as to what is really happening behind the scenes, making it another film worth watching to the very last scene.
