This is it, the last of the trilogy of erotic fantasy that has brought many women, and some men, plenty of entertainment and heart-palpitating fantasies. From pony-tailed teenagers to greying grandmas, women all over the world have been waiting for this epic third act, Fifty Shades Freed, to be played out on screen, concluding the modern fairy-tale with a twist between Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey. Here’s what to know before catching it at the theatres.
Is this really the last film?
Fifty Shades of Grey author EL James had written a retelling of the first story purely through the eyes of Christian Grey, sparking rumours and much hope that there’s a sliver of a chance that there’s another movie in the future. However, Dakota Johnson, who plays Anastacia Steele, has confirmed on the Jimmy Fallon Show that this will be the end film.

Fifty Shades Freed was actually filmed together with Fifty Shades Darker, because the two films consist of many of the same locations. Johnson shared on the Late Show with Seth Meyers, “it was tricky because we had to go back and forth, obviously, between both movies because some of the locations would be the same. We kind of did all the sex scenes at the same time. ” She added, “you wanna try and mix it up and not have them all be the same, you know.”
That wedding dress
If you’ve seen the movie trailer, you would have noticed Anastasia wearing a stunning floor-sweeping wedding gown. Evening wear maestro Monique Lhuillier (who also designed Anastasia’s gorgeous silver evening dress for the masquerade in Fifty Shades Darker) was handed the crucial task of designing Mrs Grey’s wedding dress. Known for her romantic bridal numbers that are between traditional and trendy, Lhuillier went for a romantic, delicate and teasing direction, steering clear of being too sexy. After all, Anastasia is a sweet girl-next-door at heart.
Jamie Dornan tackles The Beatles
Yup, Mr Grey himself has covered Paul McCartney's “Maybe I’m Amazed” for the Fifty Shades Freed movie soundtrack. The song is a bonus track on the film’s official soundtrack. Dornan singing isn’t something new. Before he pursued acting, he was the lead singer of a folk band called Sons of Jim.
Watch out for the beach scene
It’s hard to imagine Dornan as anything by un-sexy as the smouldering Christian grey. However, according to Dornan, acting sexy isn’t easy peasy, especially when it involves pebbles. The toughest scene for the Irish hunk to look all sexy was the beach scene. All it required him to do is to emerge from the water, all dripping and sensual, and walk towards his co-star Dakota Johnson. Dornan struggled greatly, "they want me to look sexy, coming out of the water, this whole James Bond thing," Dornan explained on the Graham Norton Show. "But it's not a sand beach. It's one of those pebble beaches." In the end, he had to wear shoes for that scene to deliver the right look. Watch if he nailed it!
