Amongst all genres, comedians are those who possess a special flair for bringing laughter and smiles to audiences’ faces. However, not all actors are good comedians. We bring you four movies that showcase the talents of a rare breed of actors!

Golden Chicken
Sandra Ng is a versatile and skilled actress and many remember her for her boyish and deep throat laughter. Perhaps no one can play the role of Kam, a long time Hong-Kong prostitute, better than her. The story of Kam is told when she is locked up in a cash machine lobby with a thief played by Eric Tsang

While other girls have good looks, Kam makes her living by doing Jackie Chan impressions and being the butt of jokes. She makes up for her looks with her bubbly personality. The movie also documents major events in Hong Kong: two stock market crashes, the Tiananmen Square event and the handover of Hong Kong back to China. While a fun movie, through Kam, the movie also touches the hearts of many.

Golden Chicken was nominated for several awards at the 22nd Annual Hong Kong Film Awards, including Best Picture, Best Actress (Sandra Ng), Best Supporting Actress (Crystal Tin), Best Art Direction (Yee Chung-Man and Wong Bing-Yiu) and Best Costume Design. Sandra Ng snagged the Best Actress award at the 40th Annual Golden Horse Awards. At the same event, the film also won Best Art Direction and Best Makeup and Costume Design.

Last Vegas
When a bunch of old and funny guys get together, what do you expect?

Who: Four fun-loving oldies

Where: Las Vegas

Why: To hold a bachelor party for the last remaining single pal in the quartet.

The groom has been given permission to cheat by the bride. What does that tell you? Expect loads of fun! Think Hangover, but with a bunch of older, wiser and funnier guys.
Billy (Michael Douglas), Paddy (Robert De Niro), Archie (Morgan Freeman) and Sam (Kevin Kline) have been best friends since childhood. When Billy finally decides to get married, the quartet decide to go to Las Vegas for the bachelor party of their lives. Along the way, amidst all the fun, quarrels and fights, the old pals rediscover their friendships.

Although the four male leads have crossed paths before at various times in their careers, this movie marks the first ever picture with all four together. They have all won at least one Academy Award for acting: Michael Douglas for Wall Street, Morgan Freeman for Million Dollar Baby, Kevin Kline for A Fish Called Wanda and Robert De Niro for Raging Bull and The Godfather Part II.

What’s the fastest way to ruin the friendship of your BFF? Try destroying her wedding gown the night before her wedding.

Bachelorette is a 2012 American romantic comedy film that stars Kirsten Dunst, Lizzy Caplan and Isla Fisher.  These three troubled women reunite for the wedding of a friend (Rebel Wilson) who was ridiculed in high school. While setting out on a frantic search for a replacement gown, they end up on a night of booze, drugs and clubbing.

Kirsten Dunstt had acted in comedies in her younger days, and she was looking for a comedy movie to be in after Melancholia and On the Road. Bachelorette came along just at the right time. She felt it was the female version of The Hangover, a girl’s way of doing bad things.

The Inbetweeners
Fancy some British accents?

The Inbetweeners is the feature version of the hit UK TV drama series. The film was intended as the ending to the TV series. The story follows the hilarious misadventures of four best friends Simon Bird (Will McKenzie), Joe Thomas (Simon Cooper), James Buckley (Jay Cartwright) and Blake Harrison (Neil Sutherland). They are social outcasts and deemed too uncool to hang out with.

The film set a new record for the most successful opening weekend for a comedy in the UK. It overtook the record set by Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason and The Hangover Part II. This is a good enough reason to catch the movie!
