Moonlight gaet nominasi terbanyak, disusul Love and Friendship. Siapa paling mungkin terpilih jadi Film Terbaik?

Film besutan sutradara Barry Jenkins Moonlight bersaing ketat dengan Love and Friendship besutan Whit Stillman dalam London Film Critics’ Circle 2017. Keduanya sama-sama gaet tujuh nominasi dalam ajang yang digelar beberapa hari lalu.

Di antara nominasi yang digaet Moonlight, kisah remaja berkulit hitam yang beranjak dewasa di lingkungan Miami itu, adalah untuk kategori Film of the Year.

Moonlight masuk daftar nominasi di sejumlah festival belakangan ini, di antaranya di ajang Critics’ Choice Awards 2016, Screen Actor Guild Awards 2016, Golden Globe 2017, dan tampil gemilang sebagai Film Terbaik dalam Gotham Independent Awards 2016.

Pesaing terdekatnya Love and Friendship, tampaknya harus was-was. Film adaptasi novel Lady Susan karya Jane Austen dengan kostum menakjubkan itu, tak masuk kategori drama komedi dalam nominasi Golden Globe 2017 yang diumumkan beberapa minggu lalu.

London Film Critics' Circle (LFCC) adalah sebutan yang diberikan oleh Film Section of  The Critics' Circle karena begitulah komunitas internasional mengenalnya. Kata “London” disisipkan karena  “Critics' Circle Film Awards” dinilai tak menyiratkan asal-usul penghargaan. LFCC ingin gelaran penghargaan tahunan ini dikenal dalam periklanan film, terutama di Amerika Serikat.

LFCC didirikan pada 1913, bekerjasama dengan kritikus seni di Inggris, di mana kritikus film mulai menjadi anggotanya pada 1926. Di seksi film, anggotanya kini lebih dari 120 orang, berasal dari industri penerbitan hingga media-media penyiaran di seluruh Inggris.

Seperti dikutip dari variety.com, inilah daftar nominasi yang pemenangnya akan diumumkan di May Fair Hotel, Central London, pada 22 Januari 2017 nanti. Lalu, siapa kira-kira paling mungkin jadi Film Terbaik ya?
